FAQWhy does my Floating IP look like 10.100.X.X and I can't reach it?or, you got a message like
You may have selected What is a volume and what options does it give to me?If you create a new instance, normally you will get a single fixed sized disk (depending on the flavor) with a maximum of 30 GB. This disk will be stored on the compute node where the instance is launched. There is a fixed relationship between the instance, the disk, and the compute node where the instance is running. A volume, in contrast, is an independent entity which lives on a data-node and can be attached to an instance. You can attach volumes to instances after creation, thus increase the disk space of the instance. When you create a new instance, you can also choose to use a volume as single root file system (no additional miunts), which overrides the fixed compute node bound disk and adds flexibility to the instance (instance can be live migrated, disk can be as large as your quota can afford and can also be increased in disk size later on). Where can I find information about the actual status of the OpenStack system? You can find the actual status if you click on the How do I request a new project? Please have a look at How to request projects.
